Finally the cool weather has arrived and it’s time to enjoy some warm mulled wine in front of the fire! Luckily we recently tasted this delicious drop at the Hampton Food Festival and came away with a wonderfully simple recipe. Here it is – enjoy!
MULLED WINE TIPPLE
2 bottles of Merlot
1 sliced orange
20 whole cloves
6 cinnamon sticks
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 cups of water
Mix water, orange and spices and simmer for 1 hour. Strain.
Heat wine, without boiling, and add to the strained syrup.
Your mulled wine is now ready to be enjoyed!
