Australian Dairy Farmer of the Year is ………. Greg Dennis from Queensland!

It’s been a tough and very busy year for Greg Dennis (Farmer Gregie), his family and team at the Scenic Rim Robotic Dairy at Tamrookum, near Beaudesert in South East Queensland. Long hours, much hard work, keeping up the publicity for 4REAL milk, running tours of the robotic dairy and the everyday events that go hand in hand with family and farming in general. There have been moments of self doubt, days when things just didn’t go his way and criticism from some of his peers and fellow dairy farmers. He has, however, a loyal band of followers who know that the message he is determined to spread is one that should be heeded. They also know just how good that milk tastes when you open a bottle of 4REAL milk and pour a glass, through that rich plug of cream sitting at the top of the bottle. Just like the good old days.

Whilst this award won’t solve all of the dairy industry’s problems, it’s the recognition of all that Greg Dennis HAS achieved that’s so sweet! And he’s not finished! Like a terrier with a rat – he won’t give up on his herd of girls or his beloved dairy industry, without a darn good fight! Congratulations to you all – savour the moment, enjoy your big night and then get back to the farm and keep that bottled gold coming!

We need our dairy farmers! Show your support for those who are still slogging it out on the farm – to bring us fresh produce. Buy from local farmers, real farmers, farmers who work hard to put food on our tables. Check the Scenic Rim Robotic Dairy website for stockists near you and don’t forget to like their Facebook page where you can keep up with all the news. Guess what’ll be posted on that page tonight?!
