Sometimes you just stumble upon something you never knew existed. That’s what happened to me yesterday when I couldn’t find a car park near a cafe in Stafford Heights. Resigned to “doing the block” I turned into one side street and then another. Right on the next corner the fun began. I’m guessing that what my eyes fell upon was old telegraph poles cut down to about four feet high. Somebody with a sense of humour and a degree of artistic talent has painted funny and cute characters on these poles in a myriad of colours. Bananas in Pyjamas, a clown, the rainbow serpent, a cute little mouse and an English bobby were amongst the characters brightening up Falkirk Street. I stopped once I’d taken the photos below but there were more!
