Tree Change Dolls by Sonia Singh

This would have to be one of my favourite articles this year. Such humble beginnings for what promises to be a blossoming business, for all the right reasons.

Orange Sky Laundry

This is a fabulous service, helping the homeless community in Brisbane and further afield.  Today saw the boys in the bright orange van doing 140kg of washing in Yeppoon for Central Queensland residents affected by tropical cyclone Marcia.  Good to see community spirit is alive and well!

The Crown Hotel, Dayboro

Now that the whirlwind of Christmas and New Year’s Eve is over, how about taking some time to chill out and just breathe? A 45 minute drive could find you sitting under the shade of the weeping fig trees on the verandah of the historic Crown Hotel in Dayboro. These beautiful fig trees were planted in 1923 by the then publican’s wife, Mrs Herbert, to provide shade for horses tied to the hitching rails of the pub. What a bonus that 92 years later, we humans are enjoying the shade from these magnificent old trees!

Discover Martha Street at Sunset

What a great little shopping precinct! This event is a great excuse to check it out and you’d be crazy not to grab a bite to eat at one of the cafés or restaurants while you’re there.
