My Mum celebrated her 78th birthday recently and I had no idea what I was going to buy her for a gift. That was until I saw something on Facebook.
Francesca’s Flowers at Paddington is a pretty little worker’s cottage that is filled with beautiful flowers and girly bits and pieces. Francesca runs workshops in flower arranging so I booked Mum and I in for an afternoon session, which included afternoon tea in the cafe at the front of the cottage.
We we spent the afternoon playing with beautiful blooms and creating our bouquets, which we proudly took home to take pride of place on kitchen and dining room tables. This was a lovely treat for both Mum and I and was just part of a really busy day.
We started the day at Botanics Cafe at the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens, having a coffee. After a leisurely stroll around the duck pond, we browsed the walls of the Richard Randall Studio where Gaye Cook and Christine Grogh were exhibiting their beautiful artwork.
After a picnic lunch at J C Slaughter Falls we headed to Francesca’s and after getting creative with her beautiful blooms, we headed off to a fundraising fashion parade for the St John’s Wood Scout Group. What a great day – neither Mum nor I needed any rocking that night! Happy birthday Mum! xxx
