Movie Review: “Whiplash”

Thanks to Weekend Notes, we saw an early screening of Whiplash tonight. Not the kind of movie we’d normally choose but it surprised us both and we really enjoyed it. This is the story of a young boy who desperately wants to be one of the greats in the world of drumming. What he endures to reach his goal is unbelievable and has you sitting on the edge of your seat, wondering what’s going to happen next. Great acting, great drumming, over the top swearing (oh well, two out of three ain’t bad!), great jazz and a twist at the end of the storyline all make this movie great entertainment. The only criticism I have is the constant use of the “f-bomb” but sadly that seems par for the course these days.

My rating out of five: 🍦🍦🍦🍦

Hey, will have to check it out. Sometimes it’s surprising when you watch a movie that you normally wouldn’t and it turns out to be really good. Know what you mean with the language, can’t figure out why they think it will make it better.
