Thanks to Weekend Notes, we saw an early screening of Whiplash tonight. Not the kind of movie we’d normally choose but it surprised us both and we really enjoyed it. This is the story of a young boy who desperately wants to be one of the greats in the world of drumming. What he endures to reach his goal is unbelievable and has you sitting on the edge of your seat, wondering what’s going to happen next. Great acting, great drumming, over the top swearing (oh well, two out of three ain’t bad!), great jazz and a twist at the end of the storyline all make this movie great entertainment. The only criticism I have is the constant use of the “f-bomb” but sadly that seems par for the course these days.
My rating out of five: 🍦🍦🍦🍦
If you can’t stand the heat …….
It’s nearly two years since the last Australian Camp Oven Festival which means it’ll soon be time to hook up the van and head west to Millmerran!
We’re really looking forward to getting away with friends and enjoying all that this festival has to offer. My favourite events on the program are the Bush Poets’ breakfasts, held on the main stage at 8am each morning. These guys had me laughing so hard last time that I had tears rolling down my cheeks! Throw in live entertainment, billy boiling, damper throwing, sheep dog demos, whip cracking, camp oven cook offs and food sampling and loads more and you’ve got a great weekend for all ages.
This year Paul and Blair from My Kitchen Rules will also be joining the festival and doing cooking demos, so come along and say gidday to the boys.
Why not head west and join in the fun at this very Aussie festival in Millmerran? See you at the Australian Camp Oven Festival!
